What are Mouseears?
Mouseears
Mouseears [mausiǝrs] n a black felt beanie with two big round plastic ears on top. Created by Roy Williams in 1955, who was one of the original Mouseketeers from The Mickey Mouse Club. The "Mickey Mouse Club ears" which were originally designed only as part of the costume for the Mouseketeers, were so popular that the Studio quickly began seling them at Disneyland® and in retail outlets. Selling over 25,000 a day at their peak, the hats were based on a gag from the 1929 carton The Carnival Kid, where Mickey tips his ears to Minnie.
